Product Scenarios: Product Discovery (Extracted from a community member question)

Say you take “Career Pressure” a world-known problem, and want to do a product discovery around it.

How do you decide on the target group? It could be Students, Early career, Mid careers, People doing a reconversion into another industry…. how do you pick the right target group and then start your product discovery and list hypothesis or the real pain-point the target group has and start interviewing/testing/iterating… ?
